Miss Nelson is a God fearing, fun loving lady; When asked about religion, she replies, ‘Christianity is not my religion, it’s the manifestation of God’s word in me’ OG Nelson is an ardent Christian who believes in the 3 principles of christainity; faith, hope and love. This is reflected on her unfailing and selfless support and love for her family and friends. She smiles at everyone and tries to make an impact at everyone she comes in contact with, she visits home for the motherless and less privileged in her free time. These uncommon qualities which are rarely found in young people of our generation come easily to miss Nelson! OG Nelson is not your average trendy fashionista, She is a trend setter whose fashion screams individuality! Her love for health and fitness results in a well-toned curvy figure.
Miss Nelson’s modelling career kicked off in 2003 when she became Miss ESA (English students association) then went on to hold the title of Miss COEWA (College of Education, Warri) all at the age of 18! In 2007, Miss Nelson emerged as the first runner up at the prestigious Miss Niger Delta pageant in Bayelsa state of Nigeria. In 2008 miss Nelson contested for and won the title of Miss Intercontinental also in Bayelsa state, despite being a practising teacher at the time! It was at this contest that Miss Nelson’s acting career was born, she gave acting as her talent at the contest because of her childhood dream of being a famous actress; but to her surprise, she discovered innate acting skills too good to be shut down. In 2009, her strong desire to become an actress led her on a journey to Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. There she contested for a chance in the nationally broadcast acting reality TV show, Amstel Malta Box Office. She made it to the regional finals, but couldn’t make it through to the Live TV Reality Show. Miss Nelson had an opportunity to undergo an acting training at the Niger Delta Youth Empowernment Programme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where she obtained a Certificate in Acting, January 2011. OG Nelson’s acting career started like a dream that same year, while she was on vacation in Lagos, she auditioned for and accepted the lead role in the film, Omono, directed by Ernest Obi which came on a platter of gold to the chagrin of other struggling actresses. She immediately returned to Port Harcourt where she resigned from her teaching job and relocated to Lagos to take her destiny into her own hands! She has never looked back since then.
OG Nelson has starred in some blockbuster movies since then, amongst them:
Omono – Macnuel’s production (directed by Ernest OBI) 2011
